The Foundation will initially conduct activities in the Dallas, Texas metropolitan area. The Foundation will solicit scholarship recipients through recommendations provided by area high school and junior high school coaching staff and educators. As the Foundation is most familiar with football, the Foundation started its scholarship program by providing scholarships to area students who wish to attend football summer camp. The criterion for a scholarship includes economic need, combined academic grade point average of a c+ or greater, and a recommendation from an area coach or teacher.

In year one the Foundation provided approximately $14,000 in scholarships to approximately 30 different children. In subsequent years, as revenue generation increases, the Foundation will also increase the number of scholarships awarded. The goal is to allocate more than 60% of annual Foundation revenue for scholarships. Future plans include an expansion of the scholarship program to include scholarships to area children who wish to attend other sports camps such as soccer, baseball and basketball.

Scholarship funds will be awarded directly to the particular camp on behalf of the specific scholarship recipient. The Camp will provide confirmation of the scholarship recipient’s attendance at the camp as well as any reports or additional information determined appropriate by the Foundation.
