Outreach and Education Programs
The Foundation will promote the benefits of sports as a mechanism for the development of discipline, hard work and positive physical and mental health. The Foundation will call upon Erik Williams and other professional athletes, such as other former members of the Dallas Cowboys, to volunteer with The Foundation to promote the virtues of healthy eating and exercise, the importance of education and staying in school, striving for excellence in education, self-esteem building, financial literacy, community and civic engagement and the objectives of sports as a vehicle for achieving larger life goals.
The Erik Williams Foundation was formed to facilitate the development and operations of sports camps for youth ages 9-17. A primary activity of the camp is to encourage youth sports activities for children who are at risk, or whom cannot otherwise afford the tuition of a sports camp. These students will receive partial or complete scholarship assistance. The scholarship recipients are selected based on a set of written criteria and from among a pool of applicants nominated by area high school and junior high school coaches and educators. The Foundation is and will be supported primarily by grants and contributions from the general public.
